'The Vow' is inspired by a true and wonderful story, but that doesn't make the fictionalized version any less ridiculous.. Writer-director Meyers, who's devoted much of her career to midlife American arousal, that she loses her sense of fun.. I enjoyed the spectacle of middle-aged people making spectacles of themselves.
